The paper industry is one of the industries with high energy and material consumption, and serious environmental pollution. Its pollution is caused by a large amount of wastewater discharge, with high COD and suspended solids (SS) content, and severe chromaticity. The concentration of SS and COD in papermaking wastewater is relatively high, and COD is composed of two parts: insoluble COD, which usually accounts for the majority of the total COD composition. When SS is removed from the wastewater, the vast majority of insoluble COD is also removed.
